Emily’s First Grade teacher is a fun/creative teacher.  For her spelling homework each week she has to choose 3 or 4 things to do (from a list of many) with her spelling list.

This was one of her projects she did this week for spelling.  She enlisted the help from a few neighbor kids and Brandon

Taylie was diagnosed with Leukemia so Lacey and Taylie have moved to Primary Childrens Hospital for the next few months…. but Lacey is in the hospital today having their new baby girl.

Take a minute to check out Taylie’s website and say a prayer for their little family.

Families are forever…

and we are so glad to be a part of ours!

On June 29th the airport in Provo hosted some old time bombers for the public to come and see.  My brother found out about it and told all of his brothers, sister and even our parents.  Just about all of our family was able to come and see them.

This was a special thing for us because my Grandfather (Evan Dastrup) flew a B-24 bomber during WWII, and I grew up hearing many a stories about his plane and his experiences during the war.So to be able to see one of those bombers up close was such a fun experience.

Emily and Brandon were even able to go into the plane with there Grandma (Judy Dastrup) and cousins.  They got to sit in the pilot seat and wear the big headphones just like their Great Grandfather did so many years before fighting for our freedom.

Of course there was much more to see and do there and one of the highlights was the Fire Engines.

A ton of fun was had by all and then the day was topped off with a BBQ.  Visiting, FHE, and playing were the main attractions.  We are so glad to be a part of such a wonderful family.

Denver, CO

Mike had a conference in Colorado so since we’ve never been there we decided to make it a family trip.

We decided to drive there on Hwy 40.  It was beautiful  and scenic driving out past the “orange” Vernal Temple and over the Rocky Mountains.

Then we went on our way to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  We were only there for a short while but we did get chance to see the Mummy exhibit.

CIMG2783

played on the wolf statues….
