Mike had a conference in Colorado so since we’ve never been there we decided to make it a family trip.
We decided to drive there on Hwy 40. It was beautiful and scenic driving out past the “orange” Vernal Temple and over the Rocky Mountains.
The drive was beautiful.
The first day we were in Denver the kids and I went on a tour of Hammonds Candy Factory.
It was interesting to see all the old machines and watch how each candycane is hand formed.
Then we went on our way to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We were only there for a short while but we did get chance to see the Mummy exhibit.
played on the wolf statues….
and saw a squirrel.
The second day we went back to the museum to spend real time there playing and seeing all the exhibits.
They experimented…
fed fish…
played…
and each colored their own pictures.
Then we saw dinosaurs!
By the third day Mike was done with his conference so he was able to join us on our excursion. First we went to Celestial Seasonings and went on a tour of their factory.
They have some fun/beautiful art work on their packaging
Then we headed to see the Red Rocks
It was rainy and there was a concert so we were unable to see the theater but what we did see was amazing and well worth it.
Then there was a lul in the rain just long enough for us to hike a little ways to find a geocahe… YEAH! We love geocaching.
The 4th day was Sunday. We stopped by the Denver Temple on our way out of town. It was beautiful.
Then we headed for home.
The drive was beautiful. We took I-70 home, and then came up through Spanish Fork Canyon.
