Labor Day weekend my brothers and sisters got together with their families and we spent the weekend with my parents having our first “Dastrup Reunion” (Jerald Dastrup that is). It was fun to see nearly everyone… all the current grandchildren were there so the kids had tons of fun with their cousins. Lucy and Joe; and Tommy and Kristen were unable to make it…. we missed them!
Below are a few pictures of the weekend… be warned there are actually many
We began our activities at Fishlake and had a lot of fun in the dirt!
Playing football and of course doing some of our new found fun… Geocaching!
A weekend full of smiles
Then it was home to Grandmas house for Sunday.
Here we are trying for a family picture… current for the moment… but will soon be obsolete (by next week at least)
So many fun cousins… 15 in all… and 2 due with in the month.
A few recent family portraits
Then finished up with yet another hike and geocaching…. all the kids loved it!
Much time was spent doing this activity… I lost count of how many times we crossed that same stream/river!
What is it about rocks that yells out… “Please climb me!”
But most importantly we came away with love in our hearts for our family again!
(yes, cheesy I know)
I hope you enjoyed our picture portion of today’s blog
In further news this past week…. Emily said to me one day (after clearing the table) “Can I wash the table mom? Because I like to help…. that’s what I love to do help help help!” Now it is written, I will have it always available to show her as she grows older! She is loving kindergarten. Her favorite part is playing in the classroom and on the playground… imagine that playing in kindergarten.
Now that Emily is off to school Brandon has a lot more time to discover things HE likes to do. In two days he has read the first two books in The Boxcar Children – Benny and Watch Adventures series. He was so excited to finish the first one now I need to get back to the library to get the rest of them.
In the world of Alyssa much rolling is happening all over the place. She get’s just about anywhere she wants to by turning her body and rolling to wherever she wants. She’s getting better at sitting once propped up…. but still looses her balance if she leans a little to far.
with BYU football now up and running again… we held a fun BYU Football BBQ and Birthday Bash yesterday. It was so much fun to visit with everyone and share good times and good food. A few of my cousins are in the area going to school so we had as many could come over and the Dolman family came too. Not only did we BBQ and watch football but we had a mini party for all the September Birthdays…. Danielle Messina, Mike, Rex, Ben Dolman, Daniel Dastrup, and the 2 unborn babies that will be born this month!
Happy Birthday to all.
And now you are up to date once again int the life of Lexie and family. We hope you enjoyed it and stay tuned for many more adventures! Tah tah for now.
