We have enjoyed watching the Olympics thses past two weeks…. with all the amazing World Records broken by Michael Phelps and Bolt. And our gymnastics teams both did so good. It has been fun to watch.
We also went on another hike this Saturday. We’ve missed too many Saturdays hikes this month, but yesterday we found ourselves hiking again.
YEAH!
We hiked up Grove Creek… there are two waterfalls along the way, but we never did make it to the waterfalls. We did however find 4 geocaches along the trail, it was fun and we had our adventures along the way.
Here are a few pictures from our hike…
One of the geocaches was being guarded by a rattle snake. I would have been all for moving on but Mike and Rex (my brother) were pretty insistant on getting that cache. They started by throwing rocks to see if they could get ti to move away, it wouldn’t budge. When it finally did it moved down to sit practically right on top of it. They finally gave up on it till suddenly Rex found a great big stick, at which time they proceeded to pick it up and move it so we could get to it. What dedicated geocachers.
Luckily no one was injured, but pictures were taken! Not by me mind you… I was safely standing on the trail.
We had fun with Rex and Sarah Dawn (my cousin). We’re glad they came along with us, but sometime we will need to make that hike again so we can make it to the waterfalls.
Alyssa is still getting around by rolling everywhere. She really only rolls one direction though, so once she hits and chair or obstacle she’s stuck and then she get’s upset. She’s working more and more on sitting up. She’s pretty good at sitting for a while by herself once you get her situated and hand her something to focus on…. but as soon as she get’s leaning a little to the side…. down she goes.
Tomorrow is a big day at our house! Emily is starting Kindergarten… I can’t believe I am that old… I can’t believe that she is that old! It’s only 2.5 hours out of the day sure but I have mixed feelings about it. I’m excited for her to be in school and learn but… I suppose it just all comes down to I hope we have taught her well enough.
“Here you go world…. here is our daughter! Daughter here is the world… be good please!”
I’ll post pictures of her first day of school…. tomorrow!

Oh…. Emily in Kindergarten! Wow! I’m secretly glad Mariko still has another year of preschool because I am not ready for her to be gone every day! I guess the day comes for everyone. She’ll love it.
