Sugar and Spice….

28077My sweet, emotional , little girl!

Tonight while putting Emily in bed she was so busy playing around and talking about so many other thing, by the time I said goodnight and closed her door she hadn’t told me she loved me. Not thinking anything of it I then moved on to Brandon’s room and got him settled in bed and went down to talk with Mike.

Maybe a minute later I heard footsteps upstairs and my first thought was, who is out of bed playing…. grrrrr! So I headed upstairs to find out who the culprit was… I heard little mumblings coming from Emily’s room and open the door for it to be stopped short. She was laying on the floor by the door. I told her to go get in bed and then it happened…. a flood of tears. So I asked why? Why are you crying? After a little coaxing she said she was crying cause I got mad at her. I said well what were you doing? To which she replied she wanted to tell me “I love you”.

At this point my eyes filled up with tears (I couldn’t help it). I then proceeded to say… you know that just because we get mad at you doesn’t mean we don’t love you anymore. We’re just disappointed that you weren’t being obedient, we still love you very much…. Right? Right she agreed. We then exchanged our “I love you“s and the night was complete!

Little girls are wonderful reminders of how important it is to say I love you and give hugs as much as possible…. cause you can never get to much of a good thing.

I love you!

I’ve heard that girls can be very emotional. I have a couple of niece’s who can be emotional. I just have rowdy boys.
