We hope that this past year has been as good to you as it has to us. This year marked our 6-year wedding anniversary, and a lot has happened over the past 12 months. As always the kids continue to grow, we are expecting #3, went on two trips this year to Arizona (the Grand Canyon) and Northern California, and watched the kids grow some more. We even got a little work done, too!
Brandon turned 3 in February. He has been anxious to learn to read, since it’s a task Emily has mastered . He loves to watch BYU Football with anyone who will join us. He loves any sports, trains, and race cars… the faster the better. He also loves drawing and building things. He’s getting to be a regular “big kid” and can’t wait until his birthday when he will be 4 years old.
Emily just turned 5. She loves to read and write whenever she can. She loves every minute of Preschool but wishes it was everyday, not just 3 days of the week. Mostly she’s still just a little jabber box. She loves to talk and will tell you all about whatever is on her mind. She also loves to play with Brandon, be it with dolls or cars or trains… playing is just so much fun!
Everyone is getting excited to have a new baby sister. Emily and Brandon love thinking up names that we can call our new baby when she is born. We have heard some very interesting suggestions but they have become a little more real in the past few months. Lexie still thinks that February is so far away, even though everyone keeps telling her it is just around the corner.
We had two big trips this year. Aunt Lucy got married in Arizona, so we got a chance to go see the Grand Canyon. It was an amazing site to see looking down into the deep canyon. We had fun enjoying the day with the Thacker family and driving on the scenic routes. The one thing that stuck with Emily and Brandon from that trip was “You can fall and die if your not careful”…. I suppose their signs are pretty effective for 3 and 4 year old minds.
Our trip to Northern California was a little longer with tons of sites to see. We stopped in Sacramento and learned about mining for gold, then drove up and saw miles and miles of beautiful vineyards. then down the cost for a few days stop in San Fransisco. While there we saw all the sites including Alcatraz, ate sourdough bread, clam chowder and tasted fresh fish for the first time. Then down the coast again to see the Hurst Castle, what a beautiful scene it was to see the sun setting over the ocean and see the fog roll in. Then we cut across to see the Sequoia National Forest and Yosemite. All in all it was very eventful with tons of beautiful sites to see. But most of all it was fun to hang out together as a family!
You can see many pictures of our adventures and see for yourself how the kids have grown on our website, so definitely take a look at it at: www.lexielantz.com/gallery We try to keep it pretty up to date.
May your Holidays be merry and bright as we near the end of 2007. We wish you all the best as we enter into the New Year.
Love,
Michael, Lexie, Emily, & Brandon Lantz
